NAI presentation on neurological services

Special Oireachtas invitation issued to the NAI

As a longstanding member of the Neurololgical Alliance of Ireland (NAI) MS Ireland is encouraged to hear that the umbrella organisation was invited to speak to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children about neurological healthcare services earlier this week.

The NAI presented a range of issues to the Committee including the neurorehabilitation strategy, the impact of a range of health cuts on people with neurological conditions and the ongoing issue of medical cards. Preliminary findings from the recent NAI survey were also presented.

While the presentation was not primarily focussed on multiple sclerosis we feel all opportunities to highlight issues faced by people with all neurological conditions in Ireland should be taken, particulary ahead of Brain Awareness Week in March.
