Brain health in multiple sclerosis: a nursing resource

On Wednesday May 24th, Oxford PharmaGenesis launched a new MS Brain Health resource for nursing professionals. The new guide offers practical advice and guidance to nursing specialists aimed at maximizing lifelong brain health for those living with MS. The publication has been authored by five MS nurses, together with authors of the policy report Brain health: time matters in multiple sclerosis, and sets out practical suggestions in areas such as:

  • positive lifestyle choices to maximise lifelong brain health
  • empowering people with MS through well-informed and proactive collaboration
  • early treatment and regular monitoring
  • shared decision-making between people living with MS and healthcare professionals

As Peer Baneke, Chief Executive Officer of the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) says, "Nurses play a crucial role in MS. This publication offers clear guidance on how to provide even better advice in areas such as early treatment, monitoring and maintaining bran health, and healthy living, all of which can influence quality of life for people with MS."
