Ministers Harris and Daly announce opening of a Public Consultation on Home Care Services

Minister for Health, Simon Harris, TD, and Minister of State for Mental Health and Older People Jim Daly, TD, today, Thursday July 6th 2017 announced the opening of a public consultation on home care services. The consultation is being carried out in order to help inform the development of a new statutory scheme and system of regulation for home care services.

MS Ireland welcomes the announcement of the consultation. MS Ireland has been working hard with a group of other voluntary sector organisations to call on the Government to increase investment in home care and improve the systems and processes around home care. MS Ireland will be making a submission as part of this consultation to ensure that the needs and views of people with MS are fully represented, and we will be talking to our members and stakeholders to get their input.

Please keep an eye on our website and social media to see how you can become involved. In the meantime if you have any questions or comments please contact Harriet at harrietd@ms-society.ie or on (01) 678 1600.

I am most passionate that the H.S.E. home care packet needs to be greatly improved for M.S. people as for all people with disability's who wish to remain in their own home

Enjoying family life in your home is a basic right. To promote that right sometimes require support that delivers healthier, happier people at home and costs less to the HSE.
