Credit Union Support Local Branch

Roscommon Credit Union Tea Party a huge success

To mark World MS Day the Roscommon Credit Union, Abbey Street offices organised a tea party on Friday May 31st to raise funds and awarness of MS.

The event ran from 10am through to 2pm, during this time many local people popped in to show their support for the local voluntary branch. Lots and lots of very tasty home-cooked goodies were consumed by guests and compliments were expressed to those who generously provided refreshments free of charge.

Speaking after the event Mr. Pat Burke, Treasurer of the local Voluntary branch expressed his gratitude to Roscommon Credit Union for organising the event. “The funds raised during this Credit Union Tea Party will assist in supporting the many services which MS Suffers find indispensible. Without this kind of fund raising effort we would definitely not be able to provide as good a service to our members. These funds will ultimately enhance the quality of life of people living with MS in the Roscommon area” said Mr. Burke.

A cheque for €740 was presented to the Branch by Bernie Moran on behalf of the organisers to Mr Pat Burke, Treasurer and Ann Crean, Assistant Treasurer and Noreen Burke, Committee member.

Bernie said on the day “I am very conscious of the huge personal burden that MS sufferers and their families carry on a daily basis and we in Roscommon Credit Union feel privileged to be able to make some small contribution to assist their lives”.
