The Western Regional Office ran a pilot six week Self Management programme during October / November 2012.
The programme is a skills course for people with MS, exploring ways in which MS affects each person individually and the skills and tools that can be used to manage it more effectively. It focuses on looking after oneself by being organised, using a diary, setting realistic goals, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and managing stress.
MS Ireland has been nominated by a parent for the 2013 Mykidstime Charity of the Year.
Vast arrays of Christmas Jumpers were rooted out of wardrobes, attics and bottom drawers. They were dusted off and worn with yuletide pride at the Christmas Jumper Party night in MacSeains Pub, Cornfean, Cavan on the 20th of December. It was all in aid of raising money for the MS Cavan Voluntary Branch. Donations were taken at the door on the night. There were lots of spot prizes and the DJ got everyone into the spirit playing all those favorite Christmas tunes. It was a great success.
