Anonymous MS Story

Article appears on The Journal

An interesting article has popped up on The Journal this morning, written annonymously by a woman with MS. We think it's an interesting read and like anything in life, your decision to make your condition public is yours and yours alone. As the author says outright, "This article is anonymous – I do not want MS to be my label."

The article's title My Story: I have multiple sclerosis, but it doesn’t define me is something which will resonate with many people living with MS. We regularly hear that in the early days following a diagnosis, MS can almost eclipse the person in the eyes of friends and family but this can often be resolved by open conversations to correct misconceptions.

The writer of the article ends on a poignant note: "The importance of the balanced presentation of positive aspects of the disease is crucial to promote optimism of those with MS, particularly those newly diagnosed with a misunderstood disease."
