DFI Pre Budget Submission

DFI is urging Government to use this Budget to make the case for an inclusive society that leaves no-one behind. Budget 2015 must break the chain of previous austerity budgets, improving vital services and income supports for people with disabilities, and addressing the growing levels of hardship in which this group unjustly find themselves.

The DFI pre budget submission calls for key action in the following areas:

  1. Improve income and activation supports for people with disabilities.
  2. Improve resourcing of disability services and other supports available in the community that enable people with disabilities to live independently and with dignity.
  3. Ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights for People with Disabilities (UNCRPD) without further delay.
