Just over a week to go now until the European Championships kick off and here in MS Ireland we’re getting really excited! But obviously we’re not the only ones! Tony Burke from Dublin has put his creative hat on and has penned a song for our boys in green, with all proceeds going to MS Ireland!!
We’re On Our Way (Ireland’s on her way) is the name of the track and it’s available from iTunes for a steal, at 99 cent! Tony recorded the song with his friend Scott Halliday and got a helping hand from his nephews Tadhg and Max and their friends Daniel, Glen and Aaron, who performed in the video!
Tony, who was diagnosed with MS in 2003, has always been a keen musician. He’s been writing songs since he was seven years old, and despite not having any formal musical training he’s been playing in bands around Dublin since he was fourteen. Tony started off playing the drums, but graduated to the guitar after not getting enough attention at the back! Tony travelled around the States and Europe for many years, gigging in various venues, but since returning to Ireland in the mid-nineties he’s ‘semi-retired’ and now plays the occasional gig around town.
