With over 13 million people using the platform, donating on JustGiving is quick, easy and secure allowing people from all over the world to donate directly to their cause. Charity members get access to the best of fundraising technology and social media integration, from donation widgets to upload on their own website to a completely seamless one touch donation process.
JustGiving has some great features on offer. People can set up their own fundraising page for whatever sponsored event they are taking part in and friends and family can sponsor them through this page. They can also link the page to the organisation they are collecting for so the donations go directly to the charity of their choice. A “Raise in Memory” page can be created to tell the story of a loved one you’re remembering and explain why you’re raising money in their memory using words, photos and video. Family and friends can then donate in memory of their loved one through this page.
In May 2011 JustGiving introduced JustTextGiving in conjunction with Vodafone, which allows mobile phone users to donate between €1 and €10 to a charity or event using an SMS message which is paid for by the donor through reverse SMS billing. Those who have created their own fundraising page can create a unique text code which they can then forward on to their friends and family. If they want to donate then they can do so without even having to visit the fundraising page, by texting the unique code along with their donation amount to 70070.
