A medical student from Co. Galway has decided to embark on a trip from Bordeaux in France to Bilbao in Spain this summer in aid of MS Ireland. How is he going to do this I hear you all ask? He's going to complete the entire journey on a longboard!
A longboard is a longer variant of a skateboard. It is commonly used for cruising, downhill racing, slalom racing or transport. Cathal Mac Donncha is undertaking the massive 360km trek in the run up to World MS day on 28th May after he finishes his final exams for his medical degree at the University of Limerick.
"I'm supporting MS Ireland because I consider their community work and group support for people living with MS to be hugely worthwhile,"said Cathal. "MS Ireland is the only national organisation that provides dedicated support and services to people living with Multiple Sclerosis, their families, friends and carers."
