Minister Announces Investment in Neurology Services

Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly has announced a significant investment  in neurology services. This funding comes as a direct response to the NAI’s Pre-Budget campaign, reflecting the contributions of MS Ireland community workers and advocates in advocating for improved neurology and neurorehabilitation services.

The announcement includes investment in neurology services across five regional hospitals, as called for in the 2024 Patients Deserve Better campaign. The additional consultants will be based in University Hospital Kerry, Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, Wexford General Hospital, Mayo University Hospital and Letterkenny University Hospital. A recent investment in services at Bantry Hospital in Cork has also taken place.

In addition, further investment has been made to support the rollout of community neurorehabilitation teams.
