Person with MS, Marie Fleming, in a landmark court case gave evidence in the High Court last December to contest the validity of the Criminal Law Suicide Act 1993. Under the act a person who assists another to die faces prosecution.
The High Court said while her right to autonomy was affected by the ban, it could not agree the legislation was disproportionate.
