Survey to Understand and Improve Volunteer Experience

Linda McDonald is a student of Maynooth University, working with MS Ireland during the summer of 2024 to understand and improve the experience of volunteers in MS Ireland.

The research aims to explore the motivations that attract volunteers to work at MS Ireland, and the factors that contribute to volunteers’ sustained involvement with MS Ireland.

Volunteer Roles

At MS Ireland, volunteer roles vary, and include anyone who offers their skills and time to contribute to the organisations’ objectives. Some examples of this include supporting fundraising events, being part of a branches, helping with admin in a regional office, supporting residents in the care centre, or being on the board of directors. Volunteers may volunteer regularly, irregularly, or do so in a short-term role.
