UPDATE: Lyophilised
We have been notified by Biogen that the production of the lyophilised form of Avonex (interferon beta-1a) BIO-SET which is used in the treatment of relapsing-remitting MS or clinically isolated syndrome, is being discontinued. This decision has been taken in view of the availability of alternative treatments and the diminishing market demand for the lyophilised form and is not due to any safety issues. This is the only presentation of Avonex that is being discontinued.
