Survey Aims to Address Sexual Difficulties in People with MS

Emily White, a PhD student at King’s College London, is conducting a survey to support individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS) who experience sexual difficulties (SDs).

Sexual difficulties affect 50–85% of people with MS, regardless of gender, age, or disease severity. These challenges can have a significant impact on quality of life, relationships, body image, and mental health. Unfortunately, SDs often go unaddressed in healthcare due to stigma or time constraints.

As part of this research, Emily and her team are developing an unguided intervention to support people with MS experiencing SDs. The team is also working to assess the validity and reliability of different sexual difficulties scales to find the most accurate tool for capturing these challenges. This scale will be used in a future trial to evaluate the acceptability and potential effectiveness of the intervention.

Emily is inviting individuals with MS, aged 18 and over, to complete a 30-minute survey to help with this important research. Participants will have the chance to enter a prize draw to win one of five £20 vouchers as a thank-you for their time.
